December 24, 2008:
Christmas Eve in Antarctica. Three Adelie Penguins hang out on a small iceberg near the Madder Cliffs, of Kinnes Cove, which is located among the Antarctica Peninsula. The photo was taken on the final leg of study abroad program where students from around the US studied, and explored the untouched land of Antarctica.
Antarctica is the coldest, driest, and windiest continent on the planet and is also known as the largest dessert on earth. Antarctica has felt the effects of global climate change with the collapse of ice shelves and melting of the peninsula.
Humankind is faced with these effects and the time to act is now, before it's too late. Antarctica will always remain an untamed land of absolute splendor and power. Let's keep it that way.
