Three African black-footed penguins were publicly introduced Friday as part of the opening of the zoo’s HUB Horizon Insurance Penguin Cove.

The penguins, Sal, Tubbs and Mooshu, will be joined later this summer by a fourth penguin, named Jelly.

“There are so many people in this province who have probably never had the opportunity to see penguins up close so we’re very happy to bring this experience to Manitoba for the first time," said Tim Sinclair-Smith, director of zoological operations.

The penguins’ exhibit will run until Sept. 30.
