Three new penguins at the National Aviary need names — and, for several hundred dollars, bidders can win the rights.
The North Shore bird park is taking online bids for the opportunity to name the birds. Bids can be placed online, with a starting bid of $500 per name.
Bids will be taken through June 30 and all proceeds from the auction benefit the Aviary and its programs.
The trio — two males and one female — were recently introduced to the National Aviary's other penguins — Sidney, Simon, Elvis, Patrick and Stanley — and are living in their new arena: the National Aviary's open-air penguin exhibit, Penguin Point.
