Hard Rock Cafe will host party to benefit Mystic Aquarium’s penguin

Mashantucket — The Hard Rock Cafe Foxwoods will host a 21 and older Penguin Party on June 2 at 6 p.m. with all proceeds from ticket sales benefiting Mystic Aquarium’s African penguin conservation efforts. Several of the aquarium’s African penguins, which are an endangered species, will be at the event.

The $30 ticket price include select alcoholic beverages, food and music. Tickets are available at www.mysticaquarium.org, calling 860-572-5955 ext. 520 or at the door.

The party marks the halfway point of the Endangered Species Pin Program sponsored by the Hard Rock Cafe chain and the Association of Zoos and Aquariums. On Earth Day, Friday, April 22, 2011, special African penguin pins were made available through Hard Rock Cafe Foxwoods with a portion of proceeds benefiting the AZA and the aquarium. The limited-edition design showcases a guitar shaped pin featuring two African penguins and the Mystic Aquarium logo. The pin will be available at Hard Rock Cafe Foxwoods while supplies last for $14.
