Penguins will be
returning to Lincoln Park Zoo for the first time since the old Kovler
Penguin-Seabird House closed in December, 2011, the zoo said in a press
advisory released Monday.
The popular birds should return when a newly built exhibit — featuring “state-of-the-art African penguin and polar bear habitats in the northeast section of the zoo,” according to the North Side institution — bows in spring or summer of 2016.
The museum plans to disclose detailed plans for the new habitats in a Wednesday morning news conference.
