The Kansas City Zoo’s first baby penguin since the opening of the Helzberg Penguin Plaza has arrived.
The Humboldt hatched Sunday and is being fed and kept warm by its
parents, which may make it difficult for zoo visitors to see.
Officials say it will be several weeks before the chick will begin to explore. In the meantime, zookeepers are watching for a second Humboldt egg to hatch.
