Mystic Aquarium will be holding their 6th Annual Penguin Run and Walk Saturday, October 13 at 9 a.m.

Penguin Trainer Josh Davis and Senior Penguin Trainer Sarah Dunn, along with a couple of the penguins from Mystic Aquarium joined The Rhode Show Tuesday.

All of the funds that are raised for the event to go to help the African penguin population, that has been on the decline of over 60% since 2001 and faces extinction in the wild. 

The funds raised will also go to Mystic Aquarium and the conservation efforts that they have put in place in Mystic and in South Africa.

There is a 5K run and a 2 mile walk.

Everyone that participates receive free admission to Mystic Aquarium that day of the vent to watch the aquarium’s penguins race each other in the Foxwoods Marine Theater and also participate in penguin themed activities throughout the day.

Online registration is closed, but people can register in person at Mystic Aquarium Friday evening and Saturday morning.
