Rather than ending the day with dinner and a movie, event planners at the Tennessee Aquarium will get an early start with breakfast and a movie on Saturday, Jan. 4.
“Breakfast With the Penguins in Imax 3-D” will start at 8:30 a.m. with a savory breakfast and presentation by a penguin expert in the Imax Great Hall, 201 Chestnut St.
Then guests will move into the auditorium for a showing of “Penguins 3D,” which details the journey of a lifetime for a penguin and his family in the thick of Penguin City on the island of South Georgia near Antarctica.
Cost is $20 for Aquarium members, $25 for nonmembers, which includes breakfast, the penguin program, related activities, souvenir and the film ticket. The event ends at 10:15 a.m., when guests may opt for a visit to see the Aquarium’s resident gentoo and macaroni penguins (separate charge for admission).
Participation at the breakfast is limited to 100, and dress is casual … well, except for the penguins, who’ll be attired in their usual finery.
To register, call 423-267-FISH (3474) or go online to www.tnaqua.org and click on Events.
