Greeting hovercraft passengers at Ryde is Dippy the penguin. Picture by Jennifer Burton.
Dippy’s journey between Southsea and Ryde helped launch a new partnership between Seaview Wildlife Encounter, Hovertravel and the IW Walking Festival to promote eco-friendly services to walkers and travellers visiting the Island.
Dippy donned a special reflective jacket over his traditional 'bib and tucker’ for the event, crossing The Solent in just eight minutes.
The award-winning Seaview Wildlife Encounter is just a half-hour walk or a ten-minute cycle from the Hovertravel terminal on Ryde Esplanade.
