One of the perks of playing in Chicago (aside from the city life and the awesome fan base) is the fact that you’re near the preeminent aquarium in the United States, if not the world, the Shedd Aquarium. Now, normally players don’t take into account aquarium proximity when they’re considering changing teams, but this video might cause them to reconsider.
The White Sox’ Adam Eaton got the chance to get up close and personal with a penguin at US Cellular Field, and he made the most of it. He petted it, posed for pictures, and they he even took a few hours to solve crimes together in a psychedelic van.
HOWEVER, Eaton may have been so smitten with his new feathered friend that he lost his sense of spatial relationships, as he careened headfist into the outfield wall later in the game, probably due to having penguins on mind. The collision was scary and Eaton had to leave the game, but he’s okay, according to this tweet.
