Sea Life Sydney to launch world-first penguin experience

By Emma Gardiner on May 26, 2016 Penguin

Sea Life Sydney Aquarium will open its Penguin Island Expedition this summer season.

The immersive experience allows visitors to get up close with a colony of King and Gentoo Penguins during a sensory and educational sub-Antarctic journey.

Entertainment options include cocktails and canapés overlooking the King and Gentoo penguin enclosure, as well as travelling in a raft through the penguin colony’s environment at a cool but comfortable six degrees Celsius.

For planners looking for a family day out, breakfast experiences are available prior to the exhibit’s opening time. Groups can experience a flurry of snow, whistling winds and the stunning southern lights – all surrounded by penguins.

Alongside Penguin Island Expedition, the aquarium also features 13,000 animals as well as a kid friendly dive trail, educational talks, animal feeds and a hands-on rock pool.
