Penguin Pair at London Aquarium celebrate two year anniversary

Thursday, 2 June 2011

Penguins8 Employees at the Sea Life London Aquarium are helping two of their newest inhabitants – a pair of gay penguins - celebrate their two year anniversary, this week.

The couple are part of a colony of Gentoo Penguins, who typically live on sub-Antarctic territories including the Falkland Island.

The pair, Daley and Michael – named after Olympic champs Daley Thompson and Michael Phelps by the public in an online poll – arrived at their specially-built Antarctic home Penguins: Ice Adventure at the Sea Life London Aquarium, last month.

According to Penguin Aquarist Rachel Wickes they have settled in together well. She told PinkPaper.com: “They like to eat next to each other and are never far apart – since being in their icy new home they’ve gone from strength to strength!”
