Bird twists and turns until it can deal with an awkward itch
- King Penguin balanced on one foot and twisted its body to scratch its head

With
a yoga-like twist of its body and balancing precariously on one foot, a
penguin shows how it overcomes the difficulty of scratching a nagging
itch on its head.
The
King Penguin was caught showing off her flexibility at Volunteer
Lagoon, in the Falklands, bending sideways so she could scratch her head
with the claws on her feet.
Afterwards she waddled off to rejoin her group in the penguin nesting ground.

'This is quite a way for penguins to scratch and it happens quite often,
however it was really amusing to catch this one in the act.'
