Omaha zoo names penguin after Peyton Manning

January 19, 2014
You know how Peyton Manning says “Omaha” a lot? It’s a story that seemingly has tireless legs, and it isn’t done yet. Yes, I know, you’re suffering from Omaha-fatigue by this point, but just know this Omaha story is different and better.

BECAUSE IT INVOLVES A BABY PENGUIN!

For the Win shared the following video earlier today. Let the adorableness wash over you!

In case you’re unable to watch the video and/or hate all things tiny and cute, the clip is a message from the Henry Doorly Zoo to Manning. As a thank you for using the name of their city as a code word (/witchcraft incantation), the zoo decided to name one of it’s new baby penguins after the Denver quarterback.

Of course, there’s a bit of cruel irony to the whole situation. I’m no scientist, but I’m pretty sure penguins normally live in cold climates, and we all know Manning doesn’t thrive in cold weather. (We know this because it’s The Narrative, and The Narrative is never wrong.)
