#Penguins officially named at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium

OMAHA, Neb. —Staff at Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium have selected the winning entries from a Facebook contest to name their new penguin chicks.

The gentoo chick will be named "Maverick" -- a name submitted by John Dwyer.

The Rockhoppers will be named "Kirby" and "Puck," names submitted by Kate Harris and Jennifer Gulley, respectively.

The keepers who care for the male penguin chicks chose these names out of 1,788 submissions. Each winner will receive a zoo-themed gift basket.

The chicks hatched in December and are on display inside the penguin exhibit in the Suzanne and Walter Scott Aquarium.
