Sick and dead fairy penguins have been discovered on the foreshore this week at Port MacDonnell.
Local resident Joan Lockwood said she has found nine dead penguins in the past four days.
The sick penguin pictured above was taken to Mount Gambier for treatment, but died.
A veterinary autopsy revealed pneumonia was the likely cause of death.
