While tens of thousands of people are losing their jobs amid the recession, Chessington World of Adventures need 600 new staff - including a penguin trainer.

Key requirements include a previous experience of exotic animal training required (marine mammal preferred) and an ability to interact with the public.

A recruitment drive at Chessington World of Adventures & Zoo will provide 600 full-time, part-time, weekend and summer jobs in readiness for the new season, which starts on March 29.

There are posts for everything from zookeepers to hosts, on a range of seasonal and permanent contracts, for those looking to earn a bit of extra cash.

Divisional director David Smith said: "More and more people are opting for a short break in the UK rather than going on a holiday abroad and we are looking forward to a busy 2009 season.

"And we need lots of great local people to help make it a season to remember."

Visit chessingtonjobs.co.uk for a list of vacancies, as well as salary information, or call human resources on 01372 731541.
