Shelley the Penguin Visits FL State Capital

XX

By: Andy Alcock

A visitor with a sort of permanent black tie and tails was getting a lot of attention at the Florida State Capitol today.

Meet Shelly the penguin.

He's of the African Black Footed variety, native to South Africa and Namibia.

Like Florida, those places have a warm climate.

Shelly's feathers weren't ruffled by all the attention.

His handler from the Florida Aquarium in Tampa say Penguins love to be social.

He says they see people as a giant colony of penguins.
