Bundle up: the Dallas Zoo is kicking off its discounted cool-weather admission special a month early.
Beginning Tuesday, admission will be $5 until Feb. 29 as part of the zoo’s Penguin Days promotion. Admission is free for zoo members and children age 2 and younger.

The zoo said starting the promotion early is “a way of thanking the community for its support throughout the year.” The zoo welcomed its 1 millionth visitor in a fiscal year in September for the first time in its 127-year history.

The zoo is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and is located at 650 South R.L. Thornton Freeway, Dallas 75203.
